A bit about us

Established in 2017 by The Henninger Family, Madeleine Point Oyster Farms is a family-owned and operated aquaculture farm located off the coast of Yarmouth, Maine. Specializing in the cultivation of oysters, scallops, and kelp, the farm was born out of a vision for ecologically restorative practices and a desire to grow a world-class oyster. Building a restorative sea farm was also something the entire Henninger Family could take part in.

Madeleine Point Oyster Farm’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond daily operations, through engagement in local community science projects that help to foster a shared stewardship of Yarmouth waters. When first getting started, Thomas collaborated with Yarmouth High School biology students and the Yarmouth Education Foundation (YEF) to identify optimal sites off Little John Island and Broad Cove for oyster cultivation.

As the aquaculture industry in Casco Bay flourished in the following years, Madeleine Point Oyster Farms remained a distinctive presence, maintaining strong connections within the wider seafood industry and the local aquaculture community.
